> Updated it from web-interface and got an email from 65@tickets.openocd.p.re.sf.net but it didn't have our devel mailing list in CC which is unnatural because someone sending 65@... wouldn't know the mail will get forwarded there (and it would, because our config specifies that).

Sounds like adding that as a visible CC would be reasonable. It would help with mailing list configuration as well.

and

>My update done through web-interface was sent to the mailing list as multipart mime message with text and html sections: http://article.gmane.org/gmane.comp.debugging.openocd.devel/24928/raw and I do not understand how messages with HTML sections might ever be welcomed on a mailing list, usually there's absolutely no gain and at the same time occassional problems (e.g. with inline quotations when answering). Moreover, SF archive doesn't show either text (it's blank) or HTML parts: https://sourceforge.net/p/openocd/mailman/message/32292532/ (a 404 error message).

The ability to configure plain vs combined would be welcome for "send notifications to:"

If diff is empty, it shouldn't show "empty file" [ss7532]

[forge:site-support:#7352]

>In this revision
https://sourceforge.net/p/kaldi/code/3889/
there were some property changes on files, but this is displayed by your site in a misleading way. It says
changed /trunk/egs/wsj/s5/steps/nnet2/dump_bottleneck_features.sh
changed /trunk/egs/wsj/s5/steps/nnet2/train_tanh_bottleneck.sh
and then later on, it says

Empty file
/trunk/egs/wsj/s5/steps/nnet2/train_tanh_bottleneck.sh Diff Switch to side-by-side view
Empty file

>This looks like the user deleted the file, but what really happened is that they changed the svn:executable property to have a value ('').

Seems to me that the problem is the text used when the diff returns empty. Perhaps changing to "File contents unchanged" would work.

svn should show "moved" instead of "changed" [ss7531]

[forge:site-support:#]

>Hi,
in the page
http://sourceforge.net/p/kaldi/code/3888
the way it displays the changes in the repository is misleading. Certain files were moved, not copied, but it says "copied".
Dan

Sounds like a reasonable text change to me

Re-evaluate default hg hooks [ss7265]

[forge:site-support:#7265]

>The repository of my VideLibri project could not be examined on the sourceforge site anymore, for a few days.

>Now I pushed new commits and it works again, so it might be too late for this ticket, but I wrote most of it already. And it had happened before, so it will happen again..

>The tip-urls I used to use ( https://sourceforge.net/p/videlibri/code/ci/tip/tree/ ) and (https://sourceforge.net/p/videlibri/code/ci/tip/log/ ) returned a 404 error.

>The url in the nav bar ( https://sourceforge.net/p/videlibri/code/ci/default/tree/ ) only shows "Repo status: analyzing..." (for days/weeks!) and not the side bar with branches/tags

>It seems to break everytime the last commit is only setting a tag (like https://sourceforge.net/p/videlibri/code/ci/cadcc330d071bd8f66344256122d56b4554a5e12/) in the default branch, instead commiting files to the actual main branch "trunks"

Seems to me that the "changegroup" hook that we're currently use doesn't cover the case of just tagging.

Perhaps adding a "tag" hook, would cover this? Or perhaps there's another hook type that would cover both at the same time?

Adjust times in tooltips according to timezone

[forge:site-support:#8042]

Throughout Allura, while we are more prone to showing relative times (eg. "5 hours ago"), you can still see the exact time in the tooltip (ie., when hovering over the relative time). Currently, this always displays UTC.

We should instead show the time as determined by (in order of preference) configured timezone in /auth/user_info or, if unset or logged out, GeoIP.

IMO, we should only do this adjustment on web. Timestamps in API should remain UTC.

Milestone quick filter not filtering correctly [ss7742]

[forge:site-support:#7742]

>There is a serious bug releated to the RSS with the projects news on SF that allows anyone to post comments to a news, and have their posts published directly to the RSS news feed without any moderation. This can be easily exploited by spammers.
As an example, yesterday I received 3 spam comments on a news I posted. I never accepted those comments, and I marked them as spam. HOWEVER, they appeared anyway (and -worst of all- they still are present) in the RSS news feed.

>This is the news URL:
https://sourceforge.net/p/podcastgen/news/2014/05/podcast-generator-on-sourceforge-blog/
and this is the RSS feed that includes the SPAM comments that were never approved (I also attach a screenshot):
https://sourceforge.net/p/podcastgen/news/feed

>The consequences of having comments propagated to the RSS feed prior to moderation and even when they are deleted is the propagation of the content to other websites that read that feed.
In the official Podcast Generator project website, for example, I show automatically the latest 3 news from that RSS feed generated by Sourceforge: hence I had in the home page 3 spam news since yesterday (now I filtered them manually).
The worst consequence of this bug, however, is that my open source software retrieves the last entry from the official news RSS feed and displays it by default in the admin section, therefore thousands of users are currently seeing a SPAM message displayed in their admin section and I have no way to correct this (until you fix this issue).

>Thank you in advance,
best
Alberto

>Yesterday I tried to rename a page and got a timeout. When I went back and tried again it said that a page already existed with that name.

>So I tried to manually delete the old page and it gave me an error.

>Its still not working today when I try to delete the wiki page.
405 Method Not Allowed

>The method GET is not allowed for this resource.

Confirmed, I tried renaming the page to see if that would allow me to rename as well, but it didn't help.

In IE11 (didn't test other IE versions), if you click edit or reply on a discussion, it'll change as expected, but shortly after, it'll refresh, go back to the top of the page, and the edit/reply section is closed again.

If a project does not have a "master" branch, it doesn't seem to display properly. The landing page says metadata missing, and selecting the branch gives a 404.

>I'm one of the team members for the Open Object Rexx project. We have the code SVN reposiory tool activated. When I browse through our repository, I see a "Snapshot" link at the top of each page, which I had assumed would generate a snapshot of the current subdirectory of the repository.

>This does not work.

>Using this URL as an example:

>https://sourceforge.net/p/oorexx/code-0/HEAD/tree/incubator/decimalFormat/

>There are 4 files in that subdirectory. I've attached a .png showing the page. I expect the snapshot function to generate a .tar or .zip file containing the content of the subdirectory for easy downloading.

>When I click the Snapshot link I get a page saying:

>Generating snapshot ...

>With the URL being:

>https://sourceforge.net/p/oorexx/code-0/HEAD/tarball?path=/incubator/decimalFormat

>Which lead me to believe things were working. ;-)

>However, it takes an extremely long time for the file to be generated and when it is downloaded it is over 270 MB in size:

>01/19/2014 11:36 PM 270,223,208 oorexx-code-0-9860.zip

>The file listed above appears to contain a large portion of the entire repository.

>I can't believe that the Snapshot feature is intended to work that way. It must be a bug.

>I've tried several times and the results are the same.

Confirmed, behavior is exactly as described in my testing.

User can't access personal subscriptions page [ss6565]

[forge:site-support:#6565]

>I've recently been receiving emails triggered by updates on SF.net tracker items I commented on ages ago. As these are annoying, I tried to turn them off. At the bottom of these notification emails, it says:

>To unsubscribe from further messages, please visit https://sourceforge.net/auth/subscriptions/

>Doing this, I am first asked to login (makes sense). After having logged in, though, the page simply gives me an error 500. Reproducibly, on different days.

>In case you think it matters: I reproduced this on my Mac OS X 10.8.5 machine, using Firefox 26, Chrome 32 and Safari 6.1.1

I'm able to access the subscriptions page, so I suspect this is something specific to his account (username: `fingolfin`).

500 error with large number of repos [ss6347]

[forge:site-support:#6347]

>Another followup from the cygwin-ports upgrade:

>/p/cygwin-ports/admin/tools and (intermittently) other pages under /p/cygwin-ports/ are showing the 500 error page, where the same pages for fedora-cygwin display correctly. I suspect that there is a bottleneck in the code triggered by the sheer number of git repos in cygwin-ports.

It's showing a timeout style 500, not a code error one.

Also, in case you have any workarounds, the primary goals they have right now are re-organizing repo order, and changing the external link target for the "donate" tool.

Runs of tildes within preformatted text prematurelty end preformatted text block [ss6380]

[forge:site-support:#6380]

>In the “Preformatted Text” section of the formatting help, it says “As an alternative to indenting, you can use 4 or more tildes before and after the text.” However apparently four or more tildes *anywhere* in a line is interpreted as the end of the preformatted text, which causes the preformatted text to end prematurely if the preformatted text itself actually contains four or more tildes!

>For example, here is a an error message the clang compiler generated when trying to compile SourceForge-hosted project sdcv, about which I was trying to submit a bug report:

Source Markdown:

>Even though I've used eight tildes in delimiting this preformatted text block, the block is prematurely ended by the five tildes in the error message (which are also swallowed and not displayed).

>Even if I use the other method, of indenting by 4 spaces, it does not work correctly.

>Please reconsider how your preformatted text detection works so that one can post preformatted text which happens to contain runs of tildes.

Seems likely that it's something that will need to be fixed upstream, but still, it would be best to have addressed.

REST: install_tool:mount_point restrictions are not same as via web interface [ss6309]

[forge:site-support:#6309]

>Following up on the cygwin-ports upgrade:

>I have been unable to create Git repos via the REST API whose mount_point param contain an underscore, even though such repo names are legal and can be created via the admin/tools web interface. The cause appears to be allura/ext/admin/admin_main.py (line 776 in git master):

> if not h.re_tool_mount_point.match(mount_point) or c.project.app_instance(mount_point) is not None:
            return {'success': False,
                    'info': 'Incorrect mount point name, or mount point already exists.'
                     }

>Should that not be something like this instead:

> if c.project.app_instance(mount_point) is not None:
            return {'success': False,
                    'info': 'Mount point already exists.'
                     }
        if not h.re_relaxed_tool_mount_point.match(mount_point):
            return {'success': False,
                    'info': 'Incorrect mount point name.'
                     }

>IOW, separate the errors for easier diagnosis, and more importantly, use re_relaxed_tool_mount_point to match the web interface.

>https://sourceforge.net/p/openmsx/openmsx/ci/HEAD/log/?path= doesn't show all authors (e.g. the 2nd commit of that list)... why not? Only Wouter seems to be shown of those latest commits.

>(That author would be mostly me ;-)

I checked the project's git log via cli to see how I might reproduce this, and I was able to reproduce this by changing some of the characters in my git config's email address to include uppercase. Which might explain the issue for commits like [Manuel Bilderbeek's](/p/openmsx/openmsx/ci/a20274e289f67e84ad47c94630caf6b54cadae82/), but it won't explain why it's missing from user's like [Patrick van Arkel's](/p/openmsx/openmsx/ci/4584f33a1ca341ed1749777ce7e926c233f16c6a/) (note, author shows on individual commit page, but not on the "history" page like the user links to in initial report).

svn directory log not showing full history [ss6210]

[forge:site-support:#6210]

>with

>https://sourceforge.net/p/jump-pilot/code/HEAD/log/?path=/core/trunk/src/language

>the folder in question has been restored properly via 'svn copy', see
http://svnbook.red-bean.com/en/1.1/ch04s04.html#svn-ch-4-sect-4.3
so the history should be there. which it is according to command line svn!

That svn log command shows a ton of commits that aren't showing via that link.
