I tried to post to a brand-new topic as an anonymous user and the content of the message didn't appear to be saved anywhere, and I also couldn't find any evidence of the message in the moderation queue.
This is due to the same issue as [#726]. What happened is that the post was waiting for moderation, but the moderation queue was broken so it didn't show up.
