I set an icon on this page: https://sourceforge.net/u/wdavison/admin/overview

But I still see a "power button" icon for me on other pages, such as https://sourceforge.net/u/wdavison/profile/

    Note also that before I uploaded my first icon, the pencil icon was cropped at the bottom due to the edit field being too short.

    The "power button" icons are from the gravatar service. I propose we use local user icons, and do away with gravatar.

    Aha! If things stay with gravatar, then i'd suggest a prominent text + link that mentions the gravatar.com site for customizing that image.
