currently they always say they were written by 'admin'; they need the actual author name

    Not a bug. WP includes a 'post-author-override' field at the bottom of the 'new post' form, it defaults to 'admin'.

    I don't know if it can be disabled, or how to change the defaults in there, someone can check the WP docs if they choose.
