- Select an exiting posting
- Leaving the subject field empty and just filling out the body will cause data loss.
- But leaving the subject empty when posting into an existing thread is normal
Tested this, and indeed, submitting a reply without a subject results in an error message about requiring a subject (this is fine), however, the text for the post disappeared into the ether.
I agree with the user in that a subject shouldn't be necessary for a reply. At the very least, I think that the user should have a chance to re-submit without having the text just be lost.
