For beta2 I would at least like logging -- preferentially to DStats, but rtstats will work if we can't get dstats functional in the timeframe allowed.
- adding any user to any role
- changing any property of project metadata
- installing any new tool
- removing a tool
- creating a subproject
- Create operation in any tool
- update operation in any tool
- delete operation in any tool
- commenting on any artifact
- creating a new discussion
- commiting to a repo
- checking out a repo
information logged should be:
- user action
- action type
- tool
- user uniqname/id
- user IP
- action metadata (ie assigned to so and so)

OK, the admin functions are individually logged. The artifact-level functions are logged en masse (create/update an artifact, whether it's a Wiki Page, a discussion, a comment, etc., all are logged as 'upsert artifact')

SOG has logrotation scripts that should handle this (they currently do this for the httpd logs and the allura logs, IIRC)
