Tasks should have a way to declare if they are 'slow' or 'fast' and taskd instances should be able to decide if they want to handle slow or fast tasks. Then taskd can be deployed so that a few instances are reserved to handle 'fast' jobs, and then only 'slow' tasks get backlogged and never tasks like email notification.
