Currently, there are a few places where we use what looks like a field/type encoding to reference fields. When I search a ticket I should be able to use a case-insensitive designation for a field, with no "_type" designation. Or custom field prefix.

When I see changes in the comments, the fields should be referred to in a manner consistent with their display -- first letter capitalized, etc.

The query interface was already fixed. The latest commit with [#650] just fixes the comments (removing the custom__ prefix)
