Guys, it's really annoying when 7 from 10 attempts apply any moderation ends by error 500 and description "Oops, looks like something went wrong."
After asking for further information, and these are for approving anonymous comments, and this appears to be a timeout issue. This is ongoing for the reporter when he moderates comments on the stellarium forums. I believe he is eventually able to get it to go through, but it takes a number of tries usually.

To test, make sure that moderating still works. It's not really feasible to replicate the slowness locally, but inspecting the code and the slow query log I found should make it clear this is better
