[#6541] and [#6530] were developed at the same time as all the github importers. Once all of those are merged in, we should go back and apply the audit log / import_id and error handling logic to the github importers.

Applied audit log and import_id improvements. Error handling was done in such a way that no changes needed here, all handled in the shared import_tool task. Cool :)
