The markdown syntax page linked in help should be updated to include:

  • A brief description of what markdown is
  • a link to a canonical reference
  • a description of what html tags are allowed
  • description of our markdown extensions ( tables, code highlighting (specifically, the language designation), our custom linking conventions)
