Instead of just saying "User created ticket #4" or "Created ticket #4," the activity text should include which tracker the ticket was created on, e.g. "User created ticket #4 on Support Requests"

What are the trackers? How are they determined?

Tracker is the place where tickets live. For example, this ticket lives in the tracker with a name "Tickets" (you can see it's selected in the top menu).

Tickets are linked to trackers via their app_config_id, which will point to the specific tool configuration.

The ticket summary could be useful, but would make the end-result pretty long like:

And the original request is to show the tracker name - helpful if a project has separate trackers for support, features, etc. But that would be redundant to say "tickets" again for many projects that just call it "tickets". Also might require deeper changes in activitystream handling, not sure.

I guess I don't see a super clear better version for this, and don't think there is a very strong need to change it, so we could probably just leave it for now.

  • Yeah request was to use tracker name that's why I previously removed my comment (I guesss you replied to mail thread :) ). Perhaps we use target parameter in activitystream. But Current way is it is displaying looks good and no changes needed. I make this ticket open now and maybe we can close this ticket since the there is no issue with current way.

Yea I agree we might as well close this ticket, so doing so. We can always re-open if someone has more ideas about it
