Yesterday I tried to rename a page and got a timeout. When I went back and tried again it said that a page already existed with that name.

So I tried to manually delete the old page and it gave me an error.

Its still not working today when I try to delete the wiki page.
405 Method Not Allowed

The method GET is not allowed for this resource.

Confirmed, I tried renaming the page to see if that would allow me to rename as well, but it didn't help.

When I go to restore a deleted page, it brings me to an edit page that has the timestamp as part of the pagename, so if I save the page the timestamp is in the name, which it shouldn't be. (This may have been a separate issue that already existed, but hard to tell since delete & restore didn't even work recently)

So it seems keeping the original title (no timestamp suffix) is causing some behavior changes. If I delete "Home" for example, then as an admin I can still go to the Home page url and it shows the deleted page. And if I'm not authenticated and go to the Home page's url then I get redirected to login (presumably on the way to an edit page)

It would be possible to adjust all those, but I'm wondering if it'd be better to just keep the title suffix so we don't have to change so many things which weren't directly part of this ticket's original bug.

  • I think these 2 issues should be separated into 2 tickets.
I can rollback the last commit from this branch to keep only those changes which are relevant to the current ticket.

I agree. Users can deal with the timestamp title during restore, until the next ticket is done which fixes it all up properly.
